CHFA Grant Resources Information
Funding Search Engines The following sites are clearinghouses of information that allow you to search for funding in the humanities generally or in your specific field. Some, like Community of Scholars, offer emailed updates when you set up a profile; others are driven solely by your searches. These sites can be a useful starting point to get a sense of the overall breadth of funding opportunites in the humanities and arts, but they tend to be general and rarely seem to incorporate the sorts of residential fellowships and grants described on the "External Funding" page. Originally a science-oriented site, COS has expanded its search functions to include a wider range of humanities and arts funding. However, the majority of resources available are still focused on the sciences. As a member you can sign up for specialized funding alerts based on your professional profile. ResearchResearch and ResearchResearchLite This site requires paid membership to access all of its resources. A "lite" version is available for free but offers significantly more limited resources. The site is based out of London and provides some information on UK jobs as well as funding opportunities. ResearchResearch is also a news site with information on "research policy and politics." Full subscribers can get guidance on finding and applying for funding A clearinghouse for information about U.S. government grants and other funding opportunities. Few of the grants on this website are available to individuals, though you can register to search for such grants only. Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance A broader-based government site offering access to a database of all federally-funded assistance programs. This site also includes help for grant writers and other general information. Academic Keys for the Humanities Primarily an academic employment site with portals for job-seekers and universities. Lists fellowships for postdocs and junior faculty. |
